In the Tanakh (the Jewish Bible), one and only one:

To be honest, there are too many gods, demi gods heroes and mortals to list them all.
All the male Olympic gods did.
All of the 12 Gods (12 Olympians (Zeus, Poseidon etc)) and many of the secondary gods (children of gods etc).
Hinduism is a religion which many people think has many Gods, but actually all the different gods represent the personality of the main ultimate god. The god is too great to imagine and so all the other gods help to visualise the ultimate god.
they had many gods such as god of the underworld, god of all gods, god of love, god of war,and so on
he is the king of the gods -- NOT the father of all the gods
There is only 1 god.
At its core Hinduism is a monotheistic religion. All of the different 'gods' are manifestations of Brahman.
there were 12 main gods, and they all sat together on a sort of council. however, there were many other minor gods, much the same way we have patron saints. some of them are important, like the patron saint of love; and some aren't, like the patron saint of taxi drivers. :-) the same was true of the greek gods.
Some tribes had many Gods. Some only worshiped the Sun. But most all believe in one Creator who created all of us.
The mayans had so many gods that they didnt know which one to belive in. So they believed in them all.
