A good rule of thumb is one ounce for every pound of his body weight.
However just giving him about half a bowl and seeing how fast he eats it (if you come back in about half an hour and hes already pretty much finished, he needs more food, same as if you come back the next day and he hasn't eaten all of it, he needs less)
