My cereal boxes indicate that the daily recommended amount of fiber for an adult is 25 grams. According to FamilyEducation.com, for healthy kids age 3 to 18, many childhood nutritionists use the formula "age + 5." Under that formula, for example, a 15-year-old would need 15+5, or 20 grams, of fiber per day.
