Well, no-one knows exactly how many are left, but in 2009 the number was below 100 so by now, it's probably... around 50-75 . In that area. People poach them, and kill them, and the general disgusting things they do, so assuming they kill under 10 every year (because they're killed they get rarer so harder to find), its probably somewhere like, 60, maybe 70.

The Prionailurus Iriomotensis (Iriomote cat) is not found on the IUCN red list of theatened species though they should be. However, they are critically endangered due to their small number left. Less than 100 remain on the Iriomote island in Japan( only place they are found). They also seem to be breeding with feral cats which is causing dilution of their gene pool. They have protected territories on the island but stray out and get hunted and eated by humans:(
Iriomote cat was created in 1967.
Two of the eleven known subspecies of leopard cat are listed as endangered: The Iriomote cat (Prionailurus bengalensis iriomotensis), found only on the Japanese island of Iriomote, and the Indian leopard cat (Prionailurus bengalensis bengalensis), found in India, Bangladesh, Yunnan, and throughout the southeastern Asian mainland. There are believed to be less than 100 Iriomote cats left in the wild. Indian leopard cat population estimates are currently unavailable.
