Lots! My '96 has roughly 220,000 on the odometer. She still gets me 29 MPG and runs fine. Now, I can't swear that the engine is the original, but there's no reason to think that it is not.
With regular oil changes and maintenance, yours can run for a long time.
The only way to know what is wrong is to have the error codes read that are set in the computer from the check engine light. Most auto parts stores will read the code for free and give you advice on repairing the problem.
Start the car, then pull the fuel pump relay and any fuses for the fuel pump. Run the car until it dies. Or, you can just pop off the gas cap.
Well there is 2 ways to check....it could be your alternater or your battery....to check to see if it is your alternater pull of your positive cable and if the car dies it is your alternater if your car don't die then it is the battery and you might want to get that replaced

You probably need a tune-up ... could also be a partially clogged fuel filter. But at any rate, your engine needs to be serviced, and soon. Continuing to operate it in this manner will cause other problems and soon render the car totally inoperable.
Try the fuel pump, it may need to be replaced.
possibly idle air control vault getting faulty or restricted air flow

Once an engine has a blown gasket, it could die at any second. Driving such a car would be extremely dangerous as the engine could break down unexpectedly.
