Please note that a light-year is a measure of distance, not a measure of time - just in case you were confusing that.

The distance Earth moves around the Sun is much, much less than a light-year. The radius of Earth's orbit is 150 million kilometers; multiply that by 2 x pi to get the circumference (since it's approximately circular). A light-year is 9.5 x 1012 kilometers; you can base your calculations on that.
