Many people don't know truckers they only know what they have seen in the movies which is usually negative or they have heard horror stories from mistreated women who often simply chose the wrong type of man (trucker or not) or chose him for the wrong reason. Just like the news drama and negativity is what spreads like wildflowers. Most truckers are just good everyday people who enjoy seeing the country and the freedom of the job. Being given a task and left alone to complete it fits with what they are made of. Many us the time alone to reflect and think and as a result become better people than they were before becoming truckers. I think people are coming more and more to find these things out. (They still don't like sharing the road with us though!)
