In the Harry Potter series there are two characters named Albus. The first, is Albus Dumbledore, the headmaster of Hogwarts and an important character throughout the series who died in the sixth novel. The second, is Harry's son Albus Severus Potter.

The Harry Potter series is set between 1991-1998 with the epilogue in 2017. There is no coverage of the series in 2005 so if anybody died it is unknown. If you are referring to the movie that was released in 2005, it was Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire in which Cedric Diggory dies.
