There is no codeine in Vicoden.
Vicoden 5-500 is a tablet that contains 5mg of hydrocodone acetate and 500mg of acetaminophen (Tylenol). It is used for moderate-severe pain and inflammation. It SHOULD NOT be used as a recreational drug. Just because it is a prescription medication, that does not mean it is safe to take without the side effects or dangers of other drugs you can buy on the street.
DO NOT FOR ANY REASON take more than 8 tablets in one day or take additional Tylenol while taking Vicoden 5/500. Doses of Tylenol that exceed 4000mg in 24 hours will cause liver failure.
DO NOT take with any other narcotic pain relievers such as Percocet, Oxycontin, Lortab, Lorcet, Ultracet, Tylenol #3, unless told to do so by your doctor. Mixing these medications may result in an overdose and potentially death unless you follow the specific instructions of your physician or pharmacist.
1000 mg = 1 gram so 5500 mg = 5500/1000 = 5.5 g. Simple!
5500mg = 5.5g

1 gram = 1000 milligrams. You now have all the information required to work out, for yourself, the answer to this and similar questions. 5500mg=5.5g (1000mg=1g)
no one 5mg pill will not put you over the threshold
