Working east there is the pyramid of Khafre then Funerary Temple of Khafre which is linked by a cause way to the Great Sphinx which is facing east at the Temple of the Sphinx.
Looking east: The central of the three pyramids is the Pyramid of Khafre to its left is the Great Pyramid [the Pyramid of Khufu] and to its right the Pyramid of Menkaure. Working east there is the pyramid of Khafre then Funerary Temple of Khafre which is linked by a cause way to the Great Sphinx, which is facing east, at the Temple of the Sphinx. The whole complex is at the village of Nazlet el-Samman about 20 km from Cairo.
This is the second of the three pyramids built on slightly higher ground than the great pyramid which makes it look taller. It is fact about 45 ft shorter at 435 ft compared with 480 ft for the Great Pyramid. Bearing mind there is not much difference in their sizes then the number of workers must be about the same as the Great pyramid. The ancient Greek historian was told the Great pyramid took 100,000 slaves to build it. Modern estimates, they can only be estimates, put it at 10,000 to 20,000. A similar figure must be right for the Khafre pyramid.
The relief carvings on the columns of the Hypostyle Hall in the Great Temple of Amun at Karnak are mainly elaborate hieroglyphic inscriptions and detailed scenes depicting religious and historical events. These carvings include images of pharaohs making offerings to the gods, battles, and religious ceremonies.

This great Temple of Amon Ra was known during the Middle Kingdom period as Ipt-Swt, which means the Selected Spot. It was also called Pr-Imn, which means the House of Amon. The name Al-Karnak in Arabic was derived from Karnak, which means fortified village, probably because the Arabs found many Temples and buildings in the area when they entered it for first time.
The Great Pyramid of Giza was built between 2560-2540 BC.
