How far in advance should you schedule a sealing at the salt lake temple?
If this is a sealing for the living, you should schedule it as soon as possible. They can often be booked for months in advance, especially during peak times (such as Saturday mornings in summer). It is better to make an appointment and have to cancel it later than to end up not being able to get an appointment at all. If this is a sealing for the dead, you should be fine scheduling it just a few days in advance, to assure that a room and sealer will be available. Other temples will not be nearly so busy. If the Salt Lake Temple is booked, make an appointment at another temple and continue to check back with Salt Lake to see if there was a cancellation. They are very knowledgable about how soon a specific date is expected to be booked.
