Typically, an LPN to RN completion program can take one year to a year and a half depending on the level. In other words, the associates degree will be shorter in time than a bachelor's. It also depends on how many prerequisites you have already completed. Some LPN programs only require one semester of human Biology where the RN program requires two semesters of human anatomy and physiology. In addition, most LPN programs do not require chemistry and microbiology where the RN program does. There are also the addition of other general education courses needed for the RN. So, it just depends on where you are. The best thing is to contact a college or university that offers the RN completion program, and ask to speak with and admissions counselor or enrollment specialist who will be able to appropriately advise you based on your specific educational background.
