I'd say that an average mpg for BMW's is between 20 and 25 mpg. However, there are many BMW's that have higher mpg, namely the cars with smaller engines (4 cylinder instead of 6) and the diesel powered cars. There is also a BMW full electric car that is being developed and tested, as well as a 7 series BMW with an engine that can run on both gas and hydrogen.
What year is it and does it have an auto or 5 speed? Mine is a 1985 with 5 speed and I get 25 mpg.
