In the Spring of 1975 when Junko Tabei was on Mount Everest there were only her team from Japan and one other team from China. She would had seen members from both teams while on the mountain.

These are all left by the climbers, the flags are to show what country they are from and the gifts are to thank the gods of the mountains for allowing the climber to reach the highest summit in the world.
