There are so many Dreamtime stories because the Aborigines of Australia consider this to be where they all began. During this time the supernatural ancestors of the Aborigines walked the land and left behind many monuments, in the form of natural features, for the people. The stories tell of these events.
A duck would walk as much as a duck COULD, if a duck would walk for you.

I believe that you will find the Aboriginal Dreamtime is quite similar to the Native American Indian's quests, ie the dreamtime is state of mind that brings answers to the person in the dreamtime that they are missing when they are awake which is similar to the quests for the Native American Indian's. I am not sure of any other cultures that practice this, but I am sure there are plenty. i am sorry but this is not a very good explonation of my question!!
Water Sleeps has 470 pages.
A:The aboriginal creation story is known as the 'dreamtime'. Different tribes of Australian aborigines had different dreamtime stories, many of which can never be told to the uninitiated or to women. Those that we do know bear a family resemblance to some of the stories in the earlier chapters of Genesis.
