Many palms are indoor plants and can be planted in the premisis of house. If one has to plant coconut palm, then ofcourse the distance from plant to plant should be 5 meters and good sun shine.

There are a number of reasons for this. Here are just a few 1)They are a symbol of transcendence of death. 2)They were planted at religious sites as their long life suggests eternity. 3)Due to their toxicity they were seen as the tree of death. 4)They were planted to discourage farmers and drovers from allowing their animals wandering onto burial grounds. 5)The fronds were used as substitute palm leaves on Palm Sunday.
It is fascinating to see the stack of corms on the seedlings that have not been repotted since 2001. Large palm trees may need to be repotted when their roots become large.
