It depends on what type of orchestra, and what type of music. Some music has 2 or 3 trumpet parts, but sometimes you will see 5 or 6 trumpet parts.

You should never bathe your trumpet. Use brushes and a trumpet snake to clean the inside, and a polishing cloth to clean the outside.
Trumpets are known for being loud! As a result, composers usually write the trumpet part as the melody part. If it was the harmony part, it would take over the whole band. Note: in a piece with multiple trumpet parts (Trumpet 1, Trumpet 2, etc.), only the first trumpet part will be the melody. Usually, the lower parts will have lower notes, and they will play the harmony.
