48 of the original 101 Mayflower passengers died before Thanksgiving 1621. Only two of them died during the trip from England to Plymouth Rock in Massachusetts. 4 men and 18 women died. Many of them died of scurvy, pneumonia or tuberculosis. Some of the women died in childbirth. Half of the crew of 25-30, not counted as passengers, also died of the same causes.
the mayflower ship was a ship where pilgrims came on t find a better place the ship had many passengers who died but the ship kept sailing. today you can visit it in massachusetts where it docked.
Of the 102 passengers on the Mayflower, about 50 died by the summer of 1621. Many of them died during January and February, while the ship lay at anchor in Plymouth harbor, as they had not constructed sufficient houses on shore before winter set in.
