it of course depends on the size of the canoe! a "normal" canoe (about 15' long) can have 3 seats, its easier with 2 people (and room for the coolbox and beers) but they can also be paddled solo (by sitting on one side and using different types of stroke (you dont as many people believe keep swapping sides with the paddle)) if the question was how many physically fit, ive been in a boat with 12 other people before the edges were below the water and it sunk :D)
