How many people hate other people?

That is a difficult question. Some philosophers have said that human beings are hard-wired to be confrontational and competitive, which means there will be some people who resent or dislike those they see as competition. But other philosophers believe we are a "tabula rasa"-- a blank slate that anything can be written on. So we can learn to love, or we can learn to hate, depending on how we are taught.

Thus, it's difficult to give an exact number of how many people hate -- at any given moment, there might be people who hate each other because they were taught that way, but at the same moment, there are people learning to be tolerant and compassionate. I'd like to believe most people don't "hate" -- they just have a dislike or a fear of those who are different, and they might be able to overcome that with time and with guidance.
