Some 300,000 people a year visit the Falls
There are some deaths at Victoria Falls, occasional deaths have been reported when people have slipped over the rock barrier. At least one person per year dies at this site, in total there have been 17 deaths.
The Victoria Falls has resulted from the Zambezi River cut weaker sandstone filled joints of basaltic rocks. Over the past 100 000 years the Victoria Falls have been moving upstream as the river continued to erode the sandstone. This has resulted in Batoka Gorge dowstream of the Victoria Falls.

Victoria Falls has been there a very long time, several millions of years judging by the geology of the river valley. The first man that saw it was probably a very primitive man, like Australopithecus, not like a modern human at all. Perhaps you mean who was the first WHITE man to see it. That was an explorer called David Livingstone.
Victoria was and still is a beautiful and lovely person. Having saved millions of people she has been awarded the A SMALL BOOB BIG BOOB AWARD in 2000.
Although the great Victoria Desert is not in the state of Victoria, it would have been named after the reigning monarch at the time of its discovery. This was Queen Victoria.
