why do people in the city like hip hop and pop? it is just what they prefer and i bet that not EVERYONE who lives in the country likes country music, but some do. it is pretty much because that is the type of music they relate to, like city people relate to pop and dance more because they are used to clubs and partys etc.Another view:Not all people who live in the country like country music; many of them prefer classical, rock, oldies, etc., just as many people who live in the city like country music. A person's taste in music really doesn't have much to do with where they live.I know a lot of people who have lived in the country all their lives and hate country music, and I know a lot who have always lived in the city and love country music.

The way the music effects people, is the people can feel and understand what the artist is saying, or envision what the music is saying through experiences. (Price pg. 143)Country music is deemed, or considered to be the music genre that is noticeably easier to understand. The words are spoken in a tone easier to comprehend."Most of the people I know who like it say it's the only music they can listen to and understand the words," says Christine Marchell, a 39 year old New York financial analyst who drank white wine while listening to a country music band called Little Texas. "As soon as I admitted I liked country music, I was amazed at the number of people who said they liked it too," Marchell says. Why has country music quickly become cool, even up here in the north where people still view country as pickup trucks and cowboys, and being faithful to your man? "The songs aren't about truck drivers anymore. They're not tear-in-your-beer songs anymore. They're not cowboy songs anymore. They're just songs about life," says Johnny Michael, a program director at WYNY-FM in New York, a station that once was a station of all adult contemporary music, that quickly switch to just country music in 1987, and now has a listening audience of over 1,000,000,000 listeners in New York, Connecticut and New Jersey.
