This is what I can tell you so far, I went to leaderboards, am level 199, and am number 49,756. There are so many names below me, I got tired of scrolling down, but I got through about 1000. This tells us two things. 1. There are a minimum of 50,000 people playing. 2. Those 50,000 people are skill level 199 so there are countless others with a skill level 1-199.
