Many people think so, but clearly there are many opponents as well.
It depends on what organization you get your information from. Legalization of Cannabis is a hotly contested topic. Many states have already legalized it in one capacity or another, however it remains completely illegal from the standpoint of the American Federal Government.
mostly because a large number of people believe marijuana is a mild drug and compared to alchool wich brings many problems should have no problem being legalized.
Because many drug abusers began with marijuana.
I personally think that it should. There are too many people in jail because of it, and I don't really understand why it isn't already legal. I mean, there was something about killing brain cells, but smoking cigars and cigarettes does that, as well as alcohol. The only thing is you need to be a certain age to smoke or drink - maybe the same should be said for marijuana...
I think it should, it could help so many people and advance medicine.
Many, acctually... More than you would think. Mostly it's stupid young people... Maybe in their late teens... 15-19 who think it makes them cool. The other half that use are lifeless people who have nothing better to do than get high all day. The absolute total out of the U.S population is about 71%.
They're afraid that they will lose money. Marijuana will replace many expensive medications and medical procedures, it will replace trees in products like paper, it is a cheap source of fuel, and many other things. However, stares that have legalized marijuana gave boosted their economy greatly.
No, not at this time. This is a very controversial question, and even though the president admits to having used marijuana when he was young, he knows it is a very contentious issue. Many adults (including those who used it during their youth) are not comfortable with legalizing it, although surveys show more people in favor of decriminalizing it. The president also knows a conservative congress would never pass legislation that legalized marijuana. However, there is a better chance of medical marijuana being legalized at some point, although it is difficult to predict when that will occur.
Think about this, marijuana is not accepted because its illegal and because the false information people have been giving and thinking about it for years. So many people could benefit from it if it were legal but it would take to long to get into so go to www.bigeye.com/marijuana.htm that will explain a lot. Marijuana might be illegal but what about alcohol, bout everyone drinks it, its only ok because its legal and think about how many people its killed. how many people do you know that have died because marijuana?
