Queen Victoria never visited Leamington, its an urban myth. She did pass through on a train once and commented on what a lovely place it was.

Her Uncle Leopold who was King of Belgium thought it would be a good idea for her to marry her first cousin (and the son of his brother) Albert. Victoria did not want to, but consented to have Albert and his older brother Ernest to visit her in England shortly after she became Queen. The first meeting did not go off so well, but several years later Albert came back to visit her. During this second visit Victoria found that he had matured and feel in love with him. Because she was Queen and he was only a Prince during this visit she had to propose to him.

Queen Victoria wasn't very nice to children. her own kids weren't loved by her but loved by nurses and other care takers. The queen only had special times where her children could visit her. i am one to say that i would not enjoy having her as a mother. she was not nice to children.
