When people say Shakespeare they mean William Shakespeare the playwright. There was only ever one of him.

In Scotland many years ago, there was a king named Macbeth. Wlliam Shakespeare's Macbeth was named after this great king. unlike in Shakespeare's play, Macbeth was a fantastic legendery King, and not a murderous man, like in the play

People nowadays have a stereotype of women in Shakespeare's time as being weak and submissive, which Lady Macbeth is assuredly not. However, so many of Shakespeare's female characters do not conform to this stereotype, that it suggests that the stereotype was not held necessarily by Shakespeare or his contemporaries.
