thousands in the major market programs (CBS, ABC, NBC national shows). Many more in independent/ local networks. A massive workforce (note that a small percent would work on "major programs")

Her name is Erin and she used to work in the TV News business
Lots of people! If people didn't love Avon then it would be out of business!
it is about 1-20 but about 1-6
People tend to get up and go to work. After they get home from work, many spend time watching television, connecting with friends on the Internet, or spending time with their family.
Get a double major. The one guy I know that was in TV production had the show he was producing cancelled. He was out of work until he was able to get work producing another show. It is an area that can be feast. It can be famine. At least that is the way it has been for him. It is like Broadway Plays. Some fold the first night. Some go on to make millions for their producers. I have no idea what it is like. I can only tell you what I saw from one guy in the business.
Talent, voiceovers and like. They are a big business in entertainment, and have offices all over the states and filials in europe. Many known names work for them and ive heard many of their talents in tv-shows etc.
There used to be a lot of people who worked in television repair, and who fixed a lot of other electronics and small appliances. They didn't get rich doing it, but they made a living and the people who brougth their broken items to them appreciated the fact that they could get them fixed cheaply. As more people started just replacing items that broke, television repair people started to go out of business. Not all of them disappeared, of course, but there aren't as many around as their used to be. A lot of them have discovered that they can no longer make a living doing what they used to do. They've had to raise their rates, and if they don't get enough business they've had to close their doors. The television repair people who remain often do warranty work for the larger television makers, and that's what keeps them in business. If they can get authorized as a repair center they can make good money and help a lot of people who need their televisions repaired - but they'll generally only work on certain brands. Of course, they'll still do work that isn't covered by the warranty, but the rates are often more than the people who own the televisions want to pay. It's not that the television repair companies are over-priced, but only that purchasing a new television may seem like a better idea, especially since prices have come down so much. No matter what you choose to do as a consumer, there will be companies out there that can repair your television if you feel that's the best option. For those who want to learn how to do television repair, there are classes you can take. You can also apprentice with a shop if there people there are willing to take you on and teach you. Keep in mind, though, that you might not have much of a job waiting for you once you learn the ropes. Unless you can get on with a shop - or start your own - that's authorized to do warranty work for a particular maker of televisions, you may not see the workload and income that you were hoping for. It's possible to have a great career in television repair, but you need to do it carefully and have a good game plan so you can be successful.

for me...most people venture into business to have profit and to have xtra work.
Some people have to because they work for a business that requires them to travel. Or some people travel for a vacation or to learn.
