In pursing a career as a doctor, a student needs to be aware of the specific prerequisites of the medical school(s) he or she wishes to attend so that pre-med courses can be geared towards those requirements. Since every medical school has its own curriculum and course requirements, it's difficult to quantify the exact number of pharmaceutical courses one might need, but it's safe to say that at least one general pharmaceuticals class would be required for any type of advanced medical degree. The same goes for life science majors wishing to pursue a PhD.

Other students may find they simply want to fulfill certain science credits as soon as possible. Taking an online biology course is also a way to fulfill these requirements.

While each undergraduate program is different, you will find the majority of CS programs require a great deal of math courses in addition to the general and major specific courses. In many schools, a math minor or major only requires a few additional courses as the student will already have completed most of the required courses as part of their CS program. Theoretical computer science is often very math intensive, while many practical applications of computer science such as system design (non hardware) or cyber security do not.
