Rabbits shouldn't eat celery every day. Celery, like most vegetables, is a treat food. Celery isn't very nutritious, and if a rabbit eats too much of it, the rabbit will "spoil its appetite" for healthier food (like hay). Dark-coloured celery greens can be offered more often -- they can be part of the rotation of leafy greens that go into the rabbit's daily "salad" -- but the celery itself should be limited to an occasional treat.

A healthy diet for a rabbit includes unlimited amounts water, of grass hay like timothy or orchard grass (for adults; alfalfa is better for rabbits under 8 months); as well as pellets, and a salad of fresh, dark-coloured leafy greens. Treats (fruits and vegetables) should be limited to a tablespoon or two for a normal, healthy 6 pound rabbit.

How many times a day should i feed my rabbit pellets and what times are best Also should i just let it have unlimited hay and a few vegetables here and there?

Just once a day, but leave the food in all day and night. Give it about 1 tablespoon of feed per pound that your rabbit weighs. Unlimmeted hay is good, and just a little bit of fruit or vegetables once a day. Make sure not to give your rabbit iceberg lettuce. Berries, celery, kale and parsley and other lettuces are ok. Also, small pieces of apple or pineapple are ok.

How small of an amount of apple should you feed your rabbit?

i would just cut it up into small pieces and give him about 2 slices worth but make sure they get cut up into smaller pieces! To be specific: how many treats you give your rabbit (apple is considered a treat) depends on your rabbit's size and health. You should talk to your vet to make sure your rabbit has good health. The House Rabbit Society recommends no more than 2 tablespoons of treat food for a normal, healthy 6 pound rabbit who also eats a balanced diet of lots of hay, some pellets, and some leafy greens.Don't give your rabbit any apple seeds because they're toxic.See the related question below for more details about a healthy rabbit diet.

Can pet rabbits have celery?

Yes, many rabbits do enjoy celery, although if you are planning on giving them this make sure you cut it into pieces about one inch (2 cm) long. There is some talk that the strings can cause choking in rabbits, so cutting them into short pieces will avoid this concern. Also, only the dark-coloured celery leaves are very healthy for rabbits; the light-coloured leaves and the stalk itself are only good as an occasional treat -- they're low in nutrients and can lead to diarrhea. See the related question below for more info about the rabbit diet.

Can bunnies eat celery and strawberries?

Sometimes you can feed rabbits celery as supplements for their food if they don't have all the necessities in it but definitely don't let them have too much and don't feed it at all to a bunny under 6 months! Rabbits like celery because it has a good crunch to it and it's a little sweet. Pet rabbits will eat all kinds of things that aren't very healthy for them. That's because they've lost many of their wild instincts; and, if the food is not part of their natural habitat, then they never learned instincts about it to begin with. You can't trust a rabbit to know what's good for it: that's your responsibility as the pet owner. If you give your rabbit celery as a treat, make sure you cut it up into pieces because the strings can wrap around their teeth and cause serious problems. A healthy diet for your pet rabbit is lots and lots of hay, some dark leafy green vegetables, pellets, and occasional treats. Celery itself falls into the "treat" category; celery leaves, when they're dark, fall into the "leafy veggies" category. See the related questions below for more info and helpful links.

Are broccoli leaves bad for bunnies?

noHowever, given his free will a rabbit will not choose to eat broccoli leaves but rather head for carrot tops, celery and lettuce. Too many broccoli leaves could be too gassy for your bunny. Remember give treats in moderation only.

Are rabbits allowed carrots?

First answer: I dont know for sure but they prabaly do if you cut it in to small pieces.More information: Yes, you can give your pet rabbit squash. However, squash is a treat food: one or two bites is enough. The main parts of a rabbit's diet is hay, dark leafy greens, and pellets. Any other food (like vegetables or fruit) is fine as a treat, but if rabbits eat too many treats they can get sick.It isn't usually necessary to cut up a rabbit's food into small pieces. They can do this themselves with their teeth! What's important is that you serve the right portion size. The exception is celery: if you give your bunny celery as a treat, make sure it is cut up into small pieces because the strings inside celery stalks can actually wrap around a rabbit's teeth and cause serious problems. That said, any treat should be just one or two small pieces anyway, so for that reason (the portion size) it does need to be cut up.See the related questions below for more info and helpful links!
