Most laptops sold today (2008) have a measly XGA (1024x768) display.

Top-end laptops may have as much as QXGA, or quad-XGA, which is double the width and height (in pixels), or 2048x1536.

Many laptops are now coming in "wide-format". The width-height ratio is 16:10 instead of 4:3. For example, WXGA is 1200x768. Most laptops sold today (2008) have a measly XGA (1024x768) display.
