Since the 2006 reclassification of Pluto to a Dwarf Planet, there are now eight planets in our solar system.
Pluto is the ninth planet from the Sun (though, technically speaking, it is now classified as a dwarf planet)
It used to have nine planets but now there is only eight because Pluto is now a dwarf planet.
Pluto. From its discovery in 1930 to its reclassification in 2006, Pluto was known as the 9th planet. Now there are eight planets and five dwarf planets, of which Pluto is one.
Both Pluto and Ceres were once planets and are now dwarf planets.keok12diefbuqthep
If you still count Pluto there is 9, but Pluto isn't really a planet anymore. So you shouldn't count it as one. Without Pluto there is 8 planets. Those planets are Mercury, Venus, Earth, Mars, Jupiter, Saturn, Uranus, and Neptune. The mnemonic device that I would now utilize contains the term "...Noodles", in place of the former "...Nine Pizzas".
There are eight planets. Pluto, formerly classed as a planet, has been reclassified and is now one of three dwarf planets.
When Pluto was classified as a planet it was 9th from the Sun. But, it's now classified as a dwarf planet and, counting both planets and dwarf planets, Pluto is 10th from the sun.
Pluto is the nineth planet from the sun, it is the farthest of the known planets. now it is proven that there are 3 more planets who knows it might be true!!! but Pluto is the ninth planet from the sun!!!!!!
in total there are 5 at this moment that are officially named, Pluto, Eris, Ceres, MakeMake and Haumea
Eight if you don't count Pluto. That is - 8 major planets. But there are several minor planets though; Pluto (obviously) Ceres (in the asteroid belt) Charon (Pluto's twin planet) and several others that are farther out than Pluto. look them up online - Trans-plutonion planets or planetoids.
The answer for that is no. Pluto is now comsidered a dwarf planet. However, Pluto have many sisters and brothers. There are many dwarf planets that has been discovered. There maybe, some dwarf planets are still unknown because of the distance.
