The question was going along so nicely there, until it got to the very end, and then
shot itself in the foot with "foot pounds".
"Foot pounds" is a torque, not a force.
-- If you apply 50 pounds of force at the end of the crank, that 50 pounds becomes
175 pounds of force at the surface of the 8-inch cylinder, because the mechanical
advantage of the crank/cylinder arrangement is 28/8 = 3.5 .
-- If you apply 50 foot-pounds of torque at the end of the crank, then the force is
50 ft-lb/28 inches = 50 lb x 12 in/28 in = 21 3/7 pounds .
Now, the same mechanical advantage of 3.5 gives you 75 pounds at the hub.
What a difference a unit makes !
There will be a TW on the side of the cylinder this is the tare weight the weight of the cylinder empty. (TW 27) would be an 27 pound empty cylinder. A full cylinder will weigh 30 pounds more than the tare weight.
4.6 tons equal 9,200 pounds. ITS OVER 9000!!!!!!
All propane cylinders will have a TW stamped in the valve protection ring. The tare weight or TW is the weight of the cylinder empty. TW 18 would be a 18 pound empty cylinder. If you weigh a TW 18 cylinder on a bathroom scale, and it weighs 28 pounds there would be 10 pounds of propane remaining in the cylinder.
a foot pound is a measure of torque, or turning power. Imagine a wrench that is positioned on a nut, the handle of which is exactly one foot long from the center of the nut and is also perfectly horizontal. Now put one pound of downforce on the end of the wrench handle. You now have one foot-pound of torque on the nut. This unit of measurement is how torque is calculated in an automobile.

They are specially cast round iron weights attached to a 4 ft long handle. They are made in a variety of weights from 12 to 24 pounds.
It all depends on the size of the cylinder.
An empty T cylinder weighs approximately 1,400 pounds.
Towing capacity of the 4 cylinder is 1,500 pounds.
3000 pounds of pressure they can snap a broom handle in half
70 foot pounds.
