3 Months before i turned 14 my personal record was 88 push ups (wide arms, medium speed, done on carpet). With this I set the record in my school (8/8th grade). Other friends at my age I know excercise actively can do upto a maaximum of 50-55 push ups (3 people) and the rest can do under 30.
I've been excercising for 3 years, and push ups for about a year. I have to admit i sometimes do brakes of excersing (long and short-term). So I'd say for someone who hasn't actively done push-ups, should be able to do ATLEAST 6-7, if he can do 15 than he is in nice shape. A 14-yo that has been excercising actively for over a year should be able to do a nice ammount over 100. If he is serius about this and keeps good condition and shape, someone at this age can do upto 300 push ups..Anything above that is talent and durability. I whould really like to see a section in Guines Book of Records for junior push upts (13/14 - 16/17 yo boys/girls).
