1 quart is equal to 2 pints
1 imperial gallon is equal to 8 pints
therefore
4 quarts in a 1 gallon jug
There are four quarts in a gallon.
Four quarts make one gallon
40 grams
Method 1: Fill the 3-gallon jug. Pour this into the 5-gallon jug. Fill the 3-gallon jug again, and pour from it into the 5-gallon jug until it is full. This leaves 1 gallon in the 3-gallon jug. Empty the 5-gallon jug, and then pour the gallon from the 3-gallon jug into it. Fill the 3-gallon jug, and pour it into the 5-gallon jug, thus making 4 gallons. Method 2: Fill the 5-gallon jug. Pour this into the 3-gallon jug until it's full. Empty the 3-gallon jug, and then pour the remaining two gallons into the 3-gallon jug. Fill the 5-gallon jug, and then pour into the 3-gallon jug until it is full, leaving 4 gallons in the 5-gallon jug.
The simple answer is that the density of air is less than the density of water. So a trashbag full of air will float on water. The more complex answer is that floating vs sinking depends on the displacement of water. Let's forget the trashbag, and think of a gallon milk jug. A pint, a pound, the world around... a gallon of water weighs 8 pounds. So, if you take a milk jug and fill it with air, it will weigh less than 8 pounds. Thus, it will displace less than 8 pounds of water and it will float. Now, fill it completely full of water (try to eliminate all air bubbles). It might float a little bit due to the density of the plastic being less than water, but it will displace 8 lbs of water (a gallon of water), and then will essentially sink or submerge. Now, empty the milk jug and add 4 lbs of lead shot. The jug will now displace 4 lbs of water (a half gallon) (the weight of the shot), and the rest of the jug will float. Now try 10 lbs of lead shot. It still may have some air in the top. But, once it displaces the 8 lbs of water (1 gallon), it will have 2 more pounds of shot (which will now weigh 2 lbs in the water), and it will sink.
It varies from jug to jug but if you want to find out the capacity of your jug fill it up with water and then pour it into a measuring device.
248 qts 1 gallon = 4 quarts 1 quart = 0.25 gallon
There is 1 gallon of milk in the typical milk jug.
A gallon of water weighs 8 pounds.
5 milk jugs becase a 5gallon tank is five1 gallon milk jug
there are many things that can hold a gallon like for example a jug or a bucket.
That is 256 tbsp
Fill the 5 gallon jug completely then pour that into the 3 gallon jug. Empty out the 3 gallon jug and pour the remaining water in the 5 gallon jug into the 3 gallon jug. Then just fill up the 5 gal jug again you will have 2 gallons in the 3 gallon jug and 5 gallons in the 5 gallon jug.
one gallon. (8 pounds)
fill the 5 gallon jug with water then pour the water into the 3 gallon jug until its full then u will have 2 gallons in the 5 gallon jug. then if the jugs both have the same circumference u can just make the water in both jugs level then u will have 2 gallons of water in each jug. pour the water from the 3 gallon jug into the 5 gallon jug. and u should know that 2+2=4 :)
It would take 2.52 bottles to fill a gallon jug.
There are 16 cups in 1 gallon of milk.
A half gallon jug can hold about $25.00 in pennies. (:
The local trading standards, through the weights and measure people will ensure that a gallon jug actually contains a gallon. They cannot hide behind small print or even calling it a galon jug, for example (never said it was a gallon, did we, officer?).
