There were eight tiny reindeer in the original poem "A Visit from St. Nicholas", also known as "The Night Before Christmas." Each has four hooves so that would make 32 hooves.
A hundred and some years later, in an advertising story for Montgomery Ward department stores stores, Rudolph appeared. Some now feel he's officially become one of Santa's reindeer. So if you count him there are four more making a total of 36 hooves.

Rodolph
There are usually 9.
Male reindeer drop their antlers in early November. ALL pictures of Santa's reideer show them them to have antlers ,while pulling Santa's sleigh, in December.
It's a sleigh (large sled) but don't think it has another name
donkeys..... the.... there related
None, Reindeer have hooves not feet.
Rudolph was the last to join the sleigh-pulling team, because when I read an old English version of The Night Before Christmas, there were only eight reindeer pulling Santa's sleigh.
Vixen
NO! i want to know WHY only 7 reindeer?
Because 'back in the day' there were no cars or anything so instead of dogs to pull a sleigh they needed something to get height so they used reindeer ;)
