In December 2008, the General Motors (GM) bailout was voted on by a majority of Democrats and some Republicans. Specifically, 172 Democrats and 32 Republicans voted in favor of the bailout, while 20 Democrats and 150 Republicans voted against it.
Indiana voted "officially" Democrat in the 2008 elections. However most people are Republicans. The counties that voted democrat were the poorer counties in the north where the RV industry has tanked and left many people without a job. The other counties that voted democrat have a high minority vote, and student vote such as around Notre Dame, IU, and Purdue.

Most if not all of the biological Kennedy family members are democrats. That was why people thought it was weird when Arnald Swarzeneger who is a Republican married Maria Shriver. Their children are a mixed bag. Their eldest daugher voted in the last election for Obama. Not sure about the other ones though.

Of Florida's 67 counties,34 counties voted Republican all five times,17 counties voted Republican three or four times,7 counties voted Democratic three or four times, and9 counties voted Democratic all five times.
Alabama has 7 representatives in congress,6 White Republican males and 1 African-American female Democrat.
