Pakistan has many rivers. Most of these rivers originate from Kashmir and Great Range of Hamaliya. Indus River, also called locally as River Sindh is the largest river. Other prominent rivers are Jhelum, Satluj, Biaas, Ravi, Chanab, Kunhar, Sawat, Kabul etc.
The British were not that interested in Sindh. What they were interested was in stopping insurgents from Sindh attacking the British troops over the border (sound familiar). The easiest way to stop this was to capture Sindh, which they did.
