There are many different organisations with recommendations. Most countries have their own organisation and they usually take the local diet into account when making the recommendations. In general, for an adult, a healthy portion of salt is 6 (six) gram per day. Believe me, that is not much and most people have double that amount and in some countries even more. Please beware of "hidden" salt in food products such as soy sauce and ready meals.
