No same-sex couples have legally married in Alfalfa county, even though Oklahoma's ban on same-sex marriage was struck down as unconstitutional by a federal court on January 14, 2014. A stay was granted on that ruling pending the outcome of an appeal. The state of Oklahoma lost its appeal on July 18, 2014, when the United States Court of Appeals for the 10th Circuit ruled that Oklahoma cannot treat same-sex couples differently from other couples. Governor Fallin of Oklahoma has now appealed to the United States Supreme Court, which is likely to decide the issue by the end of June 2015. In the meantime, no same-sex couples may marry in Oklahoma.

The California Department of Health states that it does not analyse or publish demographic data concerning marriages in California, including ethnicity and gender. As a result, there are no official statistics concerning the number of same-sex marriages in California, no in any specific county in California.

Exact figures are not available, but it appears that approximately 475 same-sex marriages took place in Alameda County in 2008 while same-sex marriage was legal in California.
