No same-sex couples have legally married in St. John the Baptist parish because a 2004 amendment to the state constitution of Louisiana and Louisiana marriage statutes both prohibit same-sex marriage. A consolidated federal lawsuit challenging the constitutionality of that ban is pending and oral arguments were heard on June 25, 2014. A decision is imminent.

As of 2020, there have been no same-sex couples who have married in Saint John the Baptist Parish, Louisiana. Same-sex marriage was legalized nationwide in the United States in 2015, but specific data on the number of same-sex marriages in each parish may not be readily available.
