Best Answer

The exact number of functioning sattelites is hard to know because a lot of satellites are classified military statellits. There are currently ove 3000 satellites in orbit a lot of which are no longer functioning. The number changes rapidly as new ones are launched all the time

What is used to power a satelitte?

Most satelittes used now, use solar panels and batteries for their power. This is because sunlight is readily available in space, since there are never any cloudy days.
