To get to the cannons, you need to find the secret exits in 1-3, 2-6, the Ghost House in World 3, the small castle in World 4, the Ghost House in World 5, and 6-6.

You have to unlock secret exits. Before the big bullet bill shooter there is one green pipe blocked by a whole lot of blocks. What I did to unlock 7-A is I saved a mega mushroom and when it came to the part of the blocks, I butt stomped the blocks and waited for the mega mushroom to wear off and went inside the pipe.

Not that I know. I have looked at the bottom screen to check for them but there are no paths there that I don't use. And once I get to the end of the slide I always go into 1st person view and check for any hidden exits and there aren't any. :)

The cannons are obtained by finding secret exits. one I know of is in world 1-3. with a Yoshi or propellor, where there is a fire pirahnah, jump up the platforms and go on the high ledge. then, jump as high as you can, and when you are offscreen, Hug the right wall and keep going right to find a secret exit (red flag).
Why cant you get 100 percent on super Mario world?
The number given to your file isn't a percent; it's the number of level exits you've found. A 96 is the highest you can get.
