South of Punjab, namely the areas of Jhang, Bhakhar, Multan, Rahim yar khan, Bahawalpur. Due to a lot of Population of Punjabi & Urdu speaking people the Shias become a minority. Prior to the partition of 1947 the spread of ratio between Shia & Sunni in current Pakistan was 3:1, i.e. 3 Sunnis & 1 Shia. Shia became a minority during 1947 & then the afghan war saw another influx of sunnis. Prior to 1947 & afgan war there was no Shia Sunni problem in the region. Current population of Shias is estimated at 37800000 people living under the green flag.
