Actually, Slavery never ended while President Lincoln was alive. The Civil War did not end slavery in the United States. Lincoln only freed slaves that were caught during the civil war from southern states. The Northern states which had slaves still were allowed to keep their slaves. Slavery ended the December after Lincolns death with the 13th Amendment.
Life for slaves after the civil war was hard for them because people still didn't like them because of their color and race. So trying to get a job was almost impossible, but they were great at farm working and taking care of children because that's what they did as a living.

actually, the lives of slaves became more difficult after civil war. mostly all slaves were in southern side. slave-owners didnt educate them or slaves didnt know how to handle bussines....this made there life difficult
