It is estimated that around 20,000 to 30,000 workers, not slaves, were employed to build the pyramid of Giza. These workers were likely skilled laborers, farmers, and craftsmen who were paid for their work. The common misconception of slaves being used to build the pyramids is largely inaccurate.
100,000 naked slaves were ordered to build for 14-20 years.
Five: four sloping sides and a square base foundation
All it takes to Build a pyramid is a little pixie dust and your imagination. with that, anything can come true! I'm KIDDING! it took thousands of slaves and many years to build the pyramids.
Estimates vary from 14-20 years for the Great Pyramid. The whole Giza site was developed over a period of approximately 80 years and the reigns of three Pharaohs (Khufu, Khafre and Menkaure).
I think about many thousands did many slaves did not the higher form of people like priests . The slaves had to carry heavy loads on their backs and build it in the beautiful form a step pyramid is made into
The 138 pyramids in Egypt don't exactly have names. They were intended to be the tombs of the kings who build them. However in popular culture they are often named after the kings who built them. Some are also 'named' because of their unique characteristics. Examples are The Step Pyramid, The Bent Pyramid and The Red Pyramid. The pyramids at Giza are probably the best known in the world, and they are the pyramids of Khufu, Khafre and Menkaure. Khufu's, The Great Pyramid, is the largest Egyptian pyramid. In this famous grouping Khafre's is next in size followed by Menkaure's. Khafre was the son of Khufu, and Menkaure was the son of Menkaure. The Red Pyramid of Shofru is believed to be the first successful smooth sided pyramid, and it also has most of its original smooth finishing stonework. Saying that it was the first successful smooth sided pyramid reflects the fact that it was designed and built to be smooth sided right from the beginning; it was not build like The Step Pyramid, layered mastabas, where the resulting steps were filled in afterwards.
A lot, depends on the size of the pyramid. According to the ancient Greek historian Herodotus (c.450BC) it took 100,000 slaves to build the Great Pyramid of Giza. Theses slaves toiled in the hot Egyptian sun for 14-20 years. Most, if not all, of the slaves would have been naked.
Pharaoh Khufu had 20,000 slaves to make his Great Pyramid.
10,000 to 20,000 but not all were slaves. Some would have free workers doing skilled jobs such as mason, smith, carpenter and scribe. The majority however, were slaves doing all the hard labouring work such as quarrying the stone, dragging the stone blocks on sledges from the quarry and levering them in place.
