All of the band members- composed the music for Saturateand We Are Not Alone. Phobia's songs were composed by Benjamin Burnley, and it is unstated who composed the music for Dear Agony, though it can be assumed that it was collaborations with the entire band. Mostly experiences from his life. It used to come from his problems with alcoholism (which he has since overcome), but with Breaking Benjamin's newest album "Dear Agony," he wrote all the songs fully sober and may have a special message within each of them. However, he's stated many times that he doesn't analyze his songs and leaves them open for his fans to interpret.
Breaking Benjamin's discography spans multiple albums released over the years. Their debut album, "Saturate," was released in 2002, followed by "We Are Not Alone" in 2004, "Phobia" in 2006, "Dear Agony" in 2009, and "Dark Before Dawn" in 2015. The band has also released "Ember" in 2018 and "Aurora" in 2020, with various singles recorded throughout their career. Each album features songs recorded in the years leading up to their respective releases.
Breaking Benjamin curses once, but uses the correct context, so I'm not sure if it can be counted as a curse word; kind of like saying that bad people go to hell, or a dog breeder referring to a female dog. In Give Me a Sign, he says the D-word, literally, "the shepherd of the damned".
