Single line spacing.
"Simple interline" usually refers to single spacing in a word processor. This means there is no additional spacing between lines of text, resulting in a tighter layout. If you are looking for double spacing, you would need to specifically select that option.
Go to Format>Paragraph and note "automatic" has appeared under Spacing. Replace "automatic" with "0 pt" under both Before and After. This will return unwanted double spacing back to single spacing. In the same formatting section, down the bottom there is a drop down box that you chose single line spacing in (or 1.5 spacing, or specific pt line spacing). I think its second drop down from the right, pretty much at the bottom of the box

You highlight everything that you have typed and you right click on it and a drop down menu will appear. Click on "paragraph" on the menu and at the bottom of the new pop-up there is a section that says " line spacing" and after you click on it then you may pick from many different options such as double space.
You do not double space between words in your writing assignments. Always use single spacing between words unless the instructor states otherwise. On the other hand, while most writing assignments will use double spacing between lines, the instructor may demand that you use single spacing.
