only one sperm can enter an egg (first come first serve)

only one egg can be fertilized at a time Actually 2 or more can but the baby won't make it to birth. My daughter died at 16 weeks. I had the baby tested and she had been fertilized by 2 sperms. I agree with this answer. I recently had a miscarriage and had the tissue tested. It turned out that 2 sperm had entered the egg at the same time and fertilized it, which results in the baby having trisomy of all chromosomes(3 instead of a pair). You can be pregnant and the baby will develop until a certain point before it miscarriages because it is not compatible with life, my miscarried at 9 weeks. It is a totally random fluke event. I am pregnant again and things are going great and I am in my 12th week. Good luck!
