Take the letter to a post-office, where it will be weighed and the correct stamp issued. If you simply guess and don't use enough stamps, the receiver of the letter will have to pay the short-fall.

Any variation of stamp values that equal .44 cents. Yes....I've seen letters with 44 one cent stamps on them.
