Forty-nine states have applied for an Article V Convention (what is often called a "Constitutional Convention"), submitting more 700 applications. Article V does not permit the calling of a "constitutional convention" only a "convention for proposing amendments."
All of them.
There were no foreign delegates at the constitutional convention.
The Constitutional Convention took place from May 25 to September 17, 1787. There was no 2007 Constitutional Convention.
If you mean for a constitutional convention to propose amendments(s) to the Constitution, 2/3 of the state legislatures. As there are 50 states, 33 would be needed for the convention to be called.
i believe seven had been governors of their states
74 delegates from 12 different states were chosen but 55 actually attended the convention
There was only one Constitutional Convention held in the United States. It was held in Philadelphia in 1787 to draft the US Constitution.
Of the originally appointed 70, only 55 delegates from 12 of the 13 original states attended the historical Constitutional Convention. Rhode Island did not send any delegates.
12 states went to the Constitutional Convention (also known as the Federal Convention, the Philadelphia Convention, the First Constitutional Convention, and the Constitutional Convention of 1787). Rhode Island didn't send delegates because it opposed any revision of the Articles of Confederation and it did not believe the national government had the right to interfere in the affairs of a state. All the states expect Rhode Island were represented at the constitutional convention. Because it had been self governed for over 140 years. And the state was reluctant to give up power to a central government.
